What is metal clay and how is it made?

Metal clay consists of tiny, microscopic particles of recycled metal combined with an organic, non-toxic binder and water. Frances sculpts and textures the clay by hand in her Bristol studio. Once dry, the piece is fired in a specialist kiln at extremely high temperatures. The binder cleanly burns away, leaving behind a solid, pure piece of metal (silver, brass, or bronze).

Are the metals you use eco-friendly?

How do I look after my handmade jewellery?

Because the beads are crafted from pure metals without synthetic coatings, they will naturally develop a rich patina over time. To keep them looking beautiful, keep your jewellery dry, apply perfumes or lotions before putting it on, and clean gently with a soft microfibre or jewellery polishing cloth.
